My Reflection On the career Fair

Hi!! Meeting you'll again in my new post. There was a career Fair exhibition held in Suntec City From 1st of March to 4th of March. My school brought students from secondary two to secondary five students. We went on the 2nd of March, on Friday.

The career exhibition happens annually in Singapore. This is for people in Singapore to look for a job. It also encourages teenage students to have a future career and ambition. My school brought me and other Sec two to three students so that we can gain a interest in jobs. There was alot of types of jobs in there. In my previous blog, i wrote that my future ambition is to be an Accountant. In the career fair there was a booth or two about the job about Accountant.

I collected alot of phamplets from those booths. The phamplets were really very useful as they provided me with informations such as the qualifications of the job, the requirements for the job the pay.My English teacher gave a worksheet which contained relevant questions of the job. From answering the questions, i came to know about the job scope, whether the job will be available in the next decade long term prospects of the job.

My second ambition is to be a radio Dj, which is in mass communication. I also collected phamplates for this job. The job is a good job and you can get a good pay. My third choice of ambition is to be an Teacher. From reading the phamplates, i understand that one should finish the O-levels and go for courses before one can be a teacher.

This career fair exhibition was really a useful one for me. I learned alot of useful things from going to the exhibition.

Job scope...

I want to work as an Accountant in future. For some people it may be simple and for some, very hard. As for me, it is quite simple as from what my teacher told. In order to be an Accountant, one must definitely pass English and Maths. A c6 should be scored in Maths. This is what one should get in O-levels in order to do a course of Accountancy in Polytechnic. When working as an Accountant, one should have the ability to do presentations, record the Double-Entry and transactions. As Accounting is mostly got to do with Maths, one should be good in Maths and calculations and should also know what is brought in and out of the company. After Poly, studies can be continued in University or he may start looking for jobs. Accounting does not require that much of knowledge in Science too.

reflection on video!

Last week, my teacher played a video of Singaporeans who go overseas to work and about their life there. It also tells about their commitment of Singapore even though living there for many years. As for me, a Singaporean I will always want to live in Singapore and contribute my best. In the video some of them live in foreign countries but still have a sense of belonging to Singapore.

Some of the men who belong to Singapore and are in foreign countries come over to Singapore to do national service. This shows that they still respect their country, they are very loyal to the country as even when some of the Singaporean men do not wish to do the national service but some Singaporeans in overseas are willing to come back. This shows how committed they are. If all Singaporeans are as good as those, Singapore’s military power would be as good as the other countries.

MY Ambition...

Ambition is something that everyone has. It is what someone ones to be when he or she grows up. As for me, i do not have very big ambitions like to become an Engineer, a Doctor or a Lawyer. I want to become an Accountant. I had this ambition only when i started learning Principles Of Accounts in Sec 3. Before that, i had no ambitions. First i found POA very boring, But then, i got used to it and now one of my favourite subjects. Basically, being an accountant is about accountancy. It is about maths, calculations, profit, loss, expenses, income. In accountancy, one should know how to record transactions. For my first POA test, i just passed. But as time goes by, i hope i will do better. Actually, i find POA quite interesting. First i thought that if i become an accountant, i will not be able to survive in it. Later as my teacher told me about the pay in the job and the promotion and stuffs, i decided that being an Accountant will be the most suitable job for me.And now it is my ambition. To become an Accountant, i will study my POA. Do alot of practises. I must also learn to be perfect in doing the Double-Entry. My teacher told that when starting the job the pay will be low and as years pass by, it may turn out to be $20 000 or more. This developed more interest in becoming an Accountant. So now i must study hard and become an Accountant.
